Border District Scorched by Extreme Heat as Gas Cylinder Explosion Triggers Devastating Fire in Khelana Village, Killing Several Livestock

The fire broke out at the residence of Fateh Singh Padihar in a settlement in Khelana village. According to local residents, the incident occurred while food was being prepared. A family member had stepped outside to fetch water when the gas cylinder suddenly exploded, setting the house ablaze within moments.

The powerful explosion caused panic throughout the area as flames rapidly engulfed the structure and spread to the surrounding premises. Villagers immediately rushed to the scene and launched efforts to control the fire. After nearly two hours of continuous struggle, residents were able to bring the blaze under control.

Despite the intensity of the fire, no human casualties were reported, averting what could have been a major tragedy. However, the damage to property was extensive, with all household belongings reduced to ashes. In addition, four to five livestock animals perished in the fire, causing significant financial loss to the family.

The incident has once again underscored the dangers posed by the ongoing extreme heat conditions in the border region, where soaring temperatures are contributing to a sharp increase in fire-related emergencies. While the absence of loss of human life provided some relief, the destruction of property and the death of valuable livestock have left the affected family facing a devastating setback.
